Faced & Unfaced Batts

For Your Health:  As construction practices for homes and buildings tighten, indoor air quality is a growing concern. Silver State Specialties uses products that are "Greenguard Certified" which can reduce indoor air contaminates and promote a safer indoor environment.

What is the "Greenguard Certification Program?": The program was founded in 1999 to establish a true third party certification based on proven emissions criteria by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the state of Washington, the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED program, OSHA and the World Health Organization.

Rigorous Testing: All certified products must pass rigorous testing of critical components and all products are fully retested every year. This ensures that all certified products continue to meet the high standards of the Greenguard Program.

How to Identify a Certified Product: You can be confident that you are insulating your home with the best product when you find the "Greenguard Indoor Air Quality" mark on your insulation products.

R-Value - What does it Mean?: Insulation is specified by its thermal resistance, or R-Value. The "R" means the resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-Value, the greater the insulating power. The amount of insulation you need is determined by your climate, type of heating (gas, oil or electricity) and what part of your house you plan to insulate. The U.S. Depratment of Energy has established minimum recommended insulation R-Values for 6 distict parts of the country, or insulation zones.

We at Silver State Specialties are prepared to help you determine the best product for your job. We will walk you through the process of choosing the proper R-Value through the final installation of the product.
